Encouraging the students to focus on a particular skill and to present the same in front of the class will be a great achievement. Not all students will be good at special skills. Education in The Arts

Right brained learners versus left brained learners. Left brained learners are academic and studious, right brained learners are creative and carefree. Both have a wealth of knowledge and talent. It is said that a right brained student will not do as well in an academic college as he or she would in the more loosely based schools for the Arts. This is not a bad thing. Right brained students are amazingly creative, naturally talented.

These are the kids who fill the schools for the Arts. Everyone brings their own flavor to their education. A creative talented student brings so much to a school that celebrates their differences. They flourish among other artistic students. They share a passion for the art and the expression of it. They don’t need to have their heads buried in their laptops the entire class time. They will however, use art programs on their computers to create the ideas that are in their heads, the ideas that create new art for generations to come. It was not so long ago that a student who wished to study art had to settle for a community college education with an Art minor, thereby making the study of Art just an elective among a curriculum that neither stimulates or interests him.

Today, the Arts are celebrated. The artist is allowed to let that creative juice flow, learn how to bring their ideas to life. There are amazing teachers who share the passion of the artist, schools that have been set up for just that purpose. An education in the Arts is recognized as a legitimate course of study and some Art schools are accredited to confer associates and bachelor’s degrees on deserving students, and rightfully so.

A degree in the Arts makes the study of one’s own craft and/or talent a legitimate course of study, one in which the graduate holds a legitimate degree.

Go To Yale And Be An Artist

Yale University, located in New Haven, Connecticut, is one of the country’s top schools. It is most widely known for educating and training first-rate lawyers and doctors. What few people realize is that Yale offers an abundant amount of programs, one of which is the Bachelor of Art program for artists.
The School of Fine Arts at Yale College, which is a subdivision of the University, has four major courses: photography, painting/printmaking, graphic design, and sculpture. To enter students can apply to the Bachelor of Art degree admission program. Mail the application form out to Yale College School of the Arts directly when majoring in the arts.
The schools reputation for demanding and producing the best students does not stop at the most familiar academic programs. The art programs require the same scrutiny. For the first year, students are required to have five academic courses related to the art field, such as Drawing 100. Along with those courses, studio work is to be completed within the first year. The second year a standard evaluation is prepared. The Sophomore Review is given to every student their second year of college. The individuals will gather all of their material that was created during studio classes, put them in a portfolio, and present it to the program director who will evaluate and determine the quality of work presented. The Sophomore Review is, not only to evaluate the current work, but also to determine if the person will remain in the art program for the next two years. After the evaluation and once the students major have been accepted then they will continue studio work as well as academics throughout the undergraduate year.
Although this may seem like a grueling progress for would-be artists, the Arts program at Yale College may be the right process needed to dole out mature and well-crafted artistry.

Art Education For Grade School Children

Using art to educate children starting at preschool, ages three to five, is an extremely useful way to allow children to begin to use their imagination and creativity to learn. When a young child’s brain begins to develop, even before birth, knowledge is instinctively acquired like a sponge soaking up water. Since a child’s brain needs to soak up information, it is extremely important for a young child to find a good school. Using art to educate is an established training practice for the District of Columbia’s School for Arts in Learning.
The School for Arts in Learning is a public charter school. The school starts with kindergarten and goes throughout the eighth grade. It is a small school in which the students are given special instruction. Students whose parents feel it is necessary for their child to grow with a curriculum in art and education.
The teachers at SAIL are well trained to integrate art training with classical educational training to give students the needed attention of both the academics and the arts.
The program at SAIL is excellent for students who need to be taught in a different manor, like those who may need more attention than other children may. All students are welcome and encouraged to visit. If an art infused with a classic educational program sounds like something a child between the ages of five and thirteen would be interested in, parents may want to research The School for Arts in Learning at the District of Columbia.
Using art to educate children is an extremely useful approach for children to set in motion their thoughts and inventiveness. Grade school children are at a critical age for learning and it is tremendously vital for young children to get the proper education. Art education programs do help children learn more substantially throughout their life than those children who have not had art in their education.

There’s a hope for education and the college culture, even in the midst of this non-degree-holding lifestyle and work force. Just watch MTV and find out.

No joke. Seriously. Famed series on MTV “Taking the Stage” documents in reality-show style the journeys of seven performing arts students in the popular, prestigious School for the Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) right in Cincinnati. And you’ll know why education is still continuing to be popular–at least at the fine arts level.

Please note a personal opinion here: fine arts are essential to the well-being of humanity. Self-expression, imagination, passion: they are the driving forces. Everyone needs an outlet. And fine arts education, however challenging and competitive and unfortunately sometimes not so lucrative, is important.

Now the School for the Creative and Performing Arts isn’t exactly a cake walk to get in or stay in. Students bust their butts there. And for what? The possibility of never actually getting the dream job that falls in line with their chosen degree. Unfortunately a fact of life.

But you have to look at these students and what they do! It’s almost like a dream life, as attractive as they are. They’re studying what they love. And let’s be honest–singing, dancing, art, writing, playing an instrument–it can be agreed that these disciplines can be much more fun than counting numbers or mixing chemicals. Just an opinion, remember. Seeing these students in this school is like watching a real-life episode of “Beverly Hills 90210″ and being jealous of how awesome these students look. There are no nerds there. No basket cases. Only super-sexy, appealing girls and guys learning some of those romantic disciplines we all wish we could have but don’t think we do–dancing, singing, guitar-playing etc etc. The pinnacle of fashion.

Remember that when facing the mundane world of choosing a worthwhile profession that’ll pay. Choose an education that you have a passion for, not for the paycheck. End of story. Draw the curtain, please.

The Basics of a Drama Teacher

Many teachers are put into teaching things that they don’t have the training to teach. This does not refer to teachers are teaching a primary subject. Many are very qualified. However, there are many a teach who are out there that are coaching football or running the chess department and do not have any idea about the subjects they are teaching. For many teachers, this department is the theater department.

Many schools have a theater department and they see it as a great way for children to learn how to express themselves and to make friends, but for the teacher who is teaching it it can mean a lot of anxiety if they aren’t sure how to get the most out of kids. These are a list of the basics that any theater teacher must know and must teach in order for the children to be successful in their art.

The first thing all kids need as a beginning to every rehearsal and for their own kickstart, is a a good warm up game. Warm up games can be anything and are just meant to get the students out of their head. They can be as silly as making funny noises. The biggest rule for students is to commit. Without commitment there is very little that a student can do to make themselves or their performance better.

The next thing a student needs is complete honesty in their scenes. While students will vary in their level of talent, none of them have to vary in their commitment to honesty in a scene. Asking and answering questions in the scene that are rooted in honesty will be the key to having success on the stage. A drama teacher can try and get that out of the students. If they do that they can make any production worth watching.

Spicing Up Your Drama Department

Most elementary and high schools have some form of a drama department. These are great resources for kids who want to get involved and express themselves in an artistic way. The only trouble with these programs is that they are almost always the first ones to be cut from the budget for the schools. Some people who make the budgets for education just do not see how these courses benefit students in the present or the future. They are wrong and let me point out how participating in drama can help with future education goals like going on to get a law degree or MBA.
One of the keys to the future education goals of a child is that they must develop good verbal skills. You will be required to show that you have these skills when you take a test like the Graduate Management Admissions Test to get into a graduate business school. If you go and look at GMAT prep courses online, you will see how much these verbal skills are emphasized. You will have to write essays. You will have to show reading comprehension skills. You will have show critical reasoning and sentence correcting skills.
So now that you see what could be expected of a child if they reach that level of education, just how does drama class help? Every school has its share of student writers. How about letting them try their hand at making a play? Even if they do not write a play, why not give them something challenging to read, understand and perform. Maybe they can perform a play by Shakespeare. If you challenge them and entertain them at the same time, your drama students will excel. They will not even realize that they are developing the verbal skills needed later in life.
