Use Reality Shows To Make Classroom Teaching More Fun Through Arts & Entertainment

Education is not restricted to bookish lessons alone. You can learn a lot by participating in arts and entertainment activities. We all love to follow reality shows on direct.tv. Well, why don’t you opt for a reality show in class?

Encouraging the students to focus on a particular skill and to present the same in front of the class will be a great achievement. Not all students will be good at special skills. In such a scenario, you should make use of the competition to encourage students to explore. Some students may be good at oratory while others may be good at singing. Some students may wish to present a few paintings of their choice.

It is one thing to inculcate the spirit of competition but it is another thing to encourage participation. Make sure that students compete in a friendly manner and that emphasis is on exploring their quality and abilities. You can also have fellow batch mates dropping in to appreciate the performance.

Check out education related movies to understand how arts and entertainment makes a huge impact on the lives of students. You can teach certain values and morals much better if you couch them in hidden lesson. Rather than sticking to traditional methods, you can rely on the current emphasis on reality entertainment to make classes more fun.

Once you help students get started, you realize that discovery of new skills improves their performance in class. As the children discover themselves, they become more confident and take steps to push their limits. That is the kind of result that teachers should look out for.

Music Should Be a Part of Education

One of the first programs to get cut in schools when there is a funding issue is the music program. This is because not everyone recognizes music as something that children must learn. It is considered an elective. There are many people, however, that would argue that music should be a core part of educational curriculum because of the benefits that are seen in other parts of learning from the students who participate.

Music is a great way to teach children dedication and responsibility. This is because they have to practice hard in order to get good. If children really put forth the effort, they will have a sense of accomplishment as they see improvement. It also challenges the mind and teaches children to apply all of these skills to other parts of education. Math is one area where many students show improvement after participating in a music program.

If your school district does not provide a music program, you should consider getting your children involved in music in other ways because of the benefits you will see in their education. Plus, your children will have a skill that they can show off which will be useful later in life. It shows kids that it is possible to become good at something.

Encourage your school district not to cut funding on music programs. It is an important part of education and the children will be missing out if music programs are removed. But above all else, make sure your own children have the opportunity to learn an instrument or participate in music, even if it is outside of school.

Enrolling Your Child in a Performing Arts School

If you have a child who’s been bitten by the performing arts bug, you may be tempted to enroll your child in a performing arts school. Before enrolling, you need to make sure you’re making the right decision for your family. Here are the pros for enrolling your child in a performing arts school

Dedicated Environment

If your child sleeps, breathes, and eats music or acting, your child will be incredibly happy to learn and thrive in a pro-performing arts environment. Even non-arts related activities are often taught with a spin towards the creative arts; students are often given the chance to do presentations instead of papers, etc.

No Outside Lessons

If your child is receiving arts training during the day, you won’t be forced to look elsewhere for lessons (that’s not to say you can’t search for acclaimed private tutors on search sites like canada 411). This also preserves valuable family time. Many students who don’t go to performing arts schools rehearse, train, and perform until late in the evening because their daytime hours are spent doing non-arts activities at their regular schools. Performing arts schools allow for less “shuttling” off to different lessons or rehearsals and more family time. Though performing arts schools often cost more for tuition, they do save money on transportation and lessen costs.

Allowing Creativity to Foster and Grow

Creativity must be nourished and encouraged in order to be utilized. Your child will be taught in an environment where creativity is fostered, not discouraged. No matter what your child chooses to do later in life, that creativity-rich environment and foundation will stick with her no matter where she goes.

Funding Your Education

Whatever your plans are for the future, education is the key to achieving success in life.  This does not in any way mean that you need to get a bachelor or masters degree in something.  Simply put, you need to get the most education you can in the field you have chosen.  Perhaps a career in the Arts has been your dream.  If this is the case, you are searching for an education in a time when the Arts have never been more celebrated.  Accepted as a legitimate course of study, a degree in the Arts will help further your career, whether it be in the spotlight or behind the scenes.

Getting the proper training and education is crucial when stepping out into the very competitive world of the Arts.  Finding the right school for that education may take a while too.  If you want to juggle both career and education, try education online. There are many online educational sites like earnmydegree.com who make learning courses more efficient and convenient, which makes them ideal for working professionals and other busy individuals.

The schools for the Arts have very specific courses of study and when you find the one that is right for you, you will want to garner a spot at that school.  Schools for the Arts can be very costly, and you may need some help in funding your education.  Student loans are out there for you to take advantage of.  Having someone co-sign the loan can also keep your interest to a minimum.
There are also numerous scholarships out there.  So many scholarships go unclaimed year after year.  Not all scholarships are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, though that would be nice.  An education funded by ten $500 scholarships is paid for the same as one funded with one $5,000 scholarship.  It may take a little more work, but since when is free money not worth a little work???   If you are just finishing high school, start by writing letters to all local groups like the Knights of Columbus, the local Moose Lodge, or any organized group.  Most of these groups offer small scholarships, and you can certainly garner more than one.
Look around, do the leg work and search the Internet. You would be surprised how many ways you can find to fund your education in the Arts

Is An International Program For You?

Studying the Arts has never been so exciting.  There are programs virtually all across the country with different areas of interest, and courses of study.  However, the Arts education does not stop at the borders of the United States.  There is so much to be learned internationally.  While you may start your education here in the United States, it can be part of your course of study to spend some time in Europe, learning what the other side of the ocean has to offer you.  Obviously the best education is one that encompasses all aspects of the course of study.  Having the opportunity to study abroad can offer you a wealth of knowledge of how things are done there. It is not unheard of that someone studying in Europe decides that Europe is where they want to be, and studies are continued in another country.

Just as we have exchange students come over from Europe to here, there are programs available for people from the United States to study abroad.  Studying Art in France can be an invaluable part of an artist’s education.  Studying theater in London can give an entirely new perspective to a student wishing to pursue an education in theater.  Having a basic knowledge of what you want to study is the first important step in deciding if an international program is the best choice for you.  For the most part, during your education you will be constantly searching for ways to make your education experience give you the most education for your effort.

If you do the leg work, you may come across a program that pertains to your study that is offered across the ocean.  Your own school may actually have an exchange program that they can connect you with.  Make the most of your education, it is the basis for your career.

An Art Oriented Education

The hope and wish for any parent is that their child gets the best education possible. It’s not enough to raise their child as a good person, but rather that they get the tools and schooling they need to live a functional, happy life. In order to do this a parent must consider carefully the options they have for their education. In many places around the country, parents are looking into alternative schools for their children and are seeing the benefits.

Alternative schools focus on artistic education as opposed to traditional curriculums. While it’s important that a child understand and know how to work within a scientific and mathematical world, they are not the only things that comprise a well rounded education. There is a lot to be said about giving a child a rich and artistic education in an alternative school, as it can teach children skills that other schools cannot and can allow for creativity and positive self-expression to flourish.

The activities that a child gets out of an artistic education include the chance to participate in theatrical productions where they can discover a passion for acting and performing. While doing this, they also learn how to communicate, accept challenging circumstances, and throw themselves into a role where they face adversity. They also get the chance to construct sets and learn building skills, as well as sewing and creating their own kids costumes.

The feeling of learning a functional skill and having something to show for it is truly different than simply taking tests or writing papers. At alternative schools children are also given an opportunity to learn to write music and make canvasses. These are skills that are not enforced or commonly taught in traditional schools these days.

It is important for a child to get the best education. These artistic based schools teach basic learning practices as well as non-traditional, creative skills, making for the perfect combination.

Yale University, located in New Haven, Connecticut, is one of the country’s top schools. It is most widely known for educating and training first-rate lawyers and doctors. What few people realize is that Yale offers an abundant amount of programs, one of which is the Bachelor of Art program for artists.
The School of Fine Arts at Yale College, which is a subdivision of the University, has four major courses: photography, painting/printmaking, graphic design, and sculpture. To enter students can apply to the Bachelor of Art degree admission program. Mail the application form out to Yale College School of the Arts directly when majoring in the arts.
The schools reputation for demanding and producing the best students does not stop at the most familiar academic programs. The art programs require the same scrutiny. For the first year, students are required to have five academic courses related to the art field, such as Drawing 100. Along with those courses, studio work is to be completed within the first year. The second year a standard evaluation is prepared. The Sophomore Review is given to every student their second year of college. The individuals will gather all of their material that was created during studio classes, put them in a portfolio, and present it to the program director who will evaluate and determine the quality of work presented. The Sophomore Review is, not only to evaluate the current work, but also to determine if the person will remain in the art program for the next two years. After the evaluation and once the students major have been accepted then they will continue studio work as well as academics throughout the undergraduate year.
Although this may seem like a grueling progress for would-be artists, the Arts program at Yale College may be the right process needed to dole out mature and well-crafted artistry.

The funding awarded to the schools or the individuals from the Department of Education is exclusively used in precise ways. Their objective is to have a productive and artistically developed grade school system.
Applicants must illustrate their specific need and relevant accomplishment of the core programs that will delve into an interrelated art training program. The results should involve the following developments.
- Develop and design a curriculum that will integrate art into the education of middle school and elementary
- Use specific materials to reproduce other useful art programs
- Assess the usage and ultimate results of arts in elementary and middle school education
- Create new and improve products and services that will increase awareness about art education

Using Music To Excel Learning

The first thing a child hears even before it is born is its mother’s voice. Every child remembers that sound. It is safe to say that sound activates memory cells in the brain. The sound of music helps memory.
Because a child’s brain develops from interactions with their environment, it is very important to introduce many different types of music at an early age. The critical developmental time is when a child is learning all the things that they need to learn.
It is important to expose a child to a wide range of different genres of music. Although classical and jazz seem to have a greater affect on learning and memory, all music should be examined. Music can also be used for children with disabilities such as dyslexia. Children with dyslexia often times hear words and sounds differently from other children. It has been proven that music and its rhythm, are the major reasons that music helps all children, especially ones with disabilities.
Music like math is considered a universal language. Therefore, if all children of different academics and nationalities were raised on many different types of music they would all be able to, in a way, speak the same language. This idea of music as a language can standardize students nationally, and integrate the learning process.
If a student were cramming for an exam, they stayed up all night, but to just thirty minutes to listen to classical music before the tests day he would do better than students who did not take thirty minutes before the tests to listen to music. In this example, it is shown that music helps improve and increase a person’s memory.
There are many factors that involve learning. One of the main aspects that concerns memory is the willingness to use music as a learning tool.
