Many a musician has performed some version of the song, “Let Me Entertain You.” Entertainment has changed throughout the centuries and continues to change, but the bottom line is that we just love to be entertained in some way or another.
Forms of entertainment can be classified as observed or participation, with hundreds of subcategories.
- Observed – Movies, professional sporting events, concerts, art galleries, museums, and comedy clubs are just a few examples of observed entertainment.
- Participation – Participation is when you actually get into the action, such as being part of a performing arts company, performing in a band, singing in front of an audience (even if it is just you in the mirror), playing video games, participating in sports or gambling.

One of the newest trends in participation entertainment is online gambling. It has become so popular that there are a great number of sites online on which to play.
